  • Description: With the FixedResolutionBuffer object, we now have an efficient intermediary between the plots and the 2D objects. This could work to our advantage -- as we already possess the _get_buff() method in all the plot types. We should rethink how the buffers are passed around; right now it's exclusively arrays, but by inserting this, we also get out the ability to spawn the appropriate profiler directly from an image object.

    This will be the deprecation of PlotCollections in favor of Jeff's plot window and my own profile/phase plotters.

    This bug should be expanded to include rethinking how profiles and whatnot work. While I hope to work on profiles and phase plots, I think Jeff should be in charge of deciding when this bug is "finished." It would be nice if we had a lighter-weight, non-Plot Collection interface that made sense.
